We are Kim and Kathy Nielsen, owners of K & K Minerals and Fossils.
We are collectors and dealers of agate, petrified wood, crystals, minerals and many types of fossils. We sell mainly at club shows in Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana and Missouri. We also sell at Quartzite and Tucson, Arizona. Many customers have asked if we have a website or a rock shop, so we created this website and decided to make available the large quantity of material, both rough and finished, in a “rock shop” at our home.
We currently do not sell anything through the website. Customers may visit our shop, contact us, or visit with us at the shows we attend. In the gallery, there are pictures of some of our inventory as well as various collecting trips.

About us
Kim is a retired science and math teacher, who has been a rock collector since he was young.
His father and brothers were rock hounds, also. He first started collecting petrified wood and then branched out to other fossils, agates and minerals. Summers are spent collecting material, and digging fossil fish from the Green River Formation near Kemmerer, Wyoming.
We are the largest fossil fish dealers in Nebraska. Kim also has agate claims in Wyoming and New Mexico.
Kathy is a retired microbiologist and has caught the rock hounding bug also. She is interested in minerals and crystals primarily. She does make and sell some jewelry, but quilting is her main interest other than collecting and selling rocks and fossils. Visiting her children and grandchildren is also high on her list of fun activities. We have a son in Omaha, NE who is a chemist and also a rock collector. He owns and operates Spear T Fossils and sells at rock & mineral shows in his spare time. We have a daughter, who is an engineer, a son-in-law and three grandchildren in Casper, WY. Our daughter owns and operates Earthly Treasures and sells at metaphysical shows in her spare time.
We both enjoy being vendors at the club shows and interacting with our customers. Since we collect a lot of material ourselves, we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible.
Kim also cuts and polishes a lot of agate, jasper and petrified wood, as well as prepping fossil fish from both the split fish and “18 inch layer” in Wyoming.

We are not available at home during shows or when on collecting trips.
Because of this, our shop is open by appointment only. Please call ahead of time if you would like to visit us. If there are particular items you are looking for, please let us know.
